Just like plants, there are not many species at live in taigas. The freezing temperatures makes it very hard for animals to survive.
Like anywhere in world, insects live in taigas. Their lives are relativity short. Most just die off in the winter due to the freezing temperatures.

Sparrows
There are many species of birds in taigas. They live on the big evergreens. The birds feed on seed and small insects. Some of these bird include finches, sparrows and jays(MBG). In the winter, birds migrate south where is it warmer. Once winter is over, they fly back to the taigas.
On the land, there are some large mammals. These include elks, moose, caribu, deer, bears, and wolverines(MBg). Some of these animals, like elk and moose, also migrate in the winter.

Bears are different. They hibernate during the winter. They start by eating alot of food to sustain them for a winter. Then, they find a cave and go into a deep sleep for the entire winter. Once it warms up, they will wake up.
Smaller mammals like squirrels do similar things. They will collect a lot of food before winter. They then store it underground. In the winter, they live underground and feed off their food supply.
