Human Influence/Health Concerns/Threats

Human activity can damage the environment, and taigas are a perfect example. We as human burn fossil fuels. This creates an excess of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which warms up this planet. The increase in temperature damages the taiga plant and animal life. Polution in the air also makes acid rain, which is deadly to many species of wildlife.

Humans also damage taigas in a more direct way: deforestation. Taigas have tall trees that are perfect for wood. People cut down these trees for logging, which destorys the natural habitats of the animals living there. Without trees, the delicate ecosystem of a taiga cannot exist.  Also, human activity causes forest fires, which can also kill many areas of taiga.
